Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy has always been a big Batman buff, and now he has landed a movie role to prove it. It’s not the first time for the Democrat, who will only reveal he is a “distinguished gentleman” in the latest Batman movie called “The Dark Knight.” He has prior experience writing in Batman books and other bit roles. He is going to donate his pay to his childhood library in Montpelier.
There are plenty of sequels and threequels out right now on the big screen. It is no wonder it’s so easy to skip one of them, and critics agree on which one to leave out: Rush Hour 3. After the first two action comedies featuring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, the humor is flat and downright boring here. How many times will audiences be made to suffer through another “do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?” gag. The answer is two, because no one should be fooled into seeing this lackluster summer snooze-fest.
It’s getting near October once again, which can only mean a new batch of scary movies is set to hit the big screens all across America. If you are like me, you have a soft spot in your heart for the classic scary movies such as Halloween the movie. Even though the film was released in 1978, it was still a frightening, if not horrific experience. Michael Myers and Jamie Lee Curtis became icons of American pop culture for years after the film.
Imagine how excited I was when I heard they were redoing Halloween the movie? It is set to be directed by none other than Rob Zombie, rock musician who has also directed scary movies like House of 1000 Corpses. Since I was a kid I have been listening to Rob Zombie’s metal, now I get to see his works play out on the big screen. I’m sure he will bring an exciting new vibe to the franchise. I think we can expect bigger production and execution in the latest Halloween installment with Rob Zombie at the helm.
Don’t take my word for it, take a look at the frightening trailer that is on YouTube right now. When you hear that classic little riff from the Halloween movies, it will send a chill up your spine. All the excitement of the original movie release will be alive in well in the hands of Rob Zombie. If this clip doesn’t get you in the mood for scary movies, nothing will.
If you are like me, you’ll be among the first in line to see this exciting new picture when it hits big screens nationwide on August 31st.
Fans of the TV series “Underdog” that ran in the mid-sixties may be a little skeptical of the latest release by Disney Pictures, but it still delivers some fun moments. Critics aren’t going to give the new film adaption of Underdog a Best in Show prize, but it can still entertain young fans. This is the trend for Disney pictures nowadays, taking a tired idea of the past and trying to revamp it for modern audiences. Some characters like Underdog simply age terribly and can no longer captivate an audience. This is the case for this old dog, who is one step away from getting put to sleep.
