The only officer who was charged over the abuse at Abu Ghraib prison has gotten off almost scott free. He got away with just a fine and a reprimand after being found guilty of disobeying an order to not discuss the scandal. That’s it! No charges about the abuse itself. The only people actually serving time for the abuse are low-ranking military personnel, but no one up the chain of command is being held responsible. I find it hard to believe that none of the officers in charge knew what was going on - or that none of them had a part in it.
