Characters on TV shows are getting less and less gay, according to Gays and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Gay characters appearing in TV shows are down from both 2005 and 2006 on network TV, however gay characters on cable increased. Why these kind of studies are done is beyond my capacity, but it does give us all something to talk about.
